New Beginnings

Welcome to my new blog! I went to a photo workshop a few weeks ago in Chicago and came back inspired to begin a new journey down the road of photography! I am a newbie to this wonderful world but I am looking forward to learning every day! My passion for photography is growing day by day as I realize how many people I can help by just simply capturing a moment in time! I am a people person and I am fairly outgoing and I like to be in control of the things around me so photography just seems to be the right avenue...I truly feel like this is what God is calling me to do at this point in my life! You see, for those of you who do not know me, I am a college graduate (Go Red Raiders!) with a bachelors degree in Human Science. I played softball for 4 years at Texas Tech University and graduated in 2007! I moved to Indianapolis 3 years ago and have been back and forth and back and forth and back again trying to decide where life is going to take me! (But, there in lies my problem...I was trying to decide instead of letting go and letting God!) I felt like after graduation things would just magically fall into place...you graduate high school, graduate college, get a job, get married, start a family, and that's life! Well most of that I have accomplished...I graduated high school, I graduated from college, got married in July, and we will talk about babies when the time is right for us!

It's the job thing that has be stumped! You see, I have done pretty much everything since I have been in Indy. Temporary desk jobs, softball instructor, high school softball coach, certified dental assistant, taken classes toward dental hygiene, and the list goes on. Since being married and recently had our pictures taken at our wedding by our amazing photographer Joshua Aull, I decided to try my hand at the whole DSLR thing! I was the person who ALWAYS shot in AUTO on my canon powershot! I didn't know any better and even though I was curious about manual I had no idea what I was doing!

So I got my canon Rebel T2i and decided to take a class to learn how to use it in all the modes and to really be creative with it. Thanks you to my teacher Walt Kuhn for all the insight and information on the fundamentals of photography! The fundamentals led to the wedding course with Sarah Newman which has led me to an actual wedding which I will be shooting next weekend...which by the way is kinda scary but totally awesome at the same time!

Anyways, I am looking forward to letting you all get to know me a little more! I am sure I will share with you my likes and dislikes among many other things but please feel free to ask me any questions and give me any feedback on my images! Be blessed!
